Founded under Princess Henriette Adelaide of Savoy, who introduced the Italian opera to Bavaria, the Bavarian State Opera hosted its first performances in 1653. Its orchestra is the Bavarian State Orchestra. Classical in its own right, the ensemble of the theatre has a long-standing tradition of excellence, with 2,100 seats, five rows of stalls and the royal box overlooking the circular auditorium. It is a true unforgettable experience.
